MLdonkey is a P2P sharing program available for a wide variety of platforms. It incorporates the popular eDonkey and Overnet networks as well as Fasttrack (Kazaa), Gnutella, Bit Torrent and a couple more. MLdonkey has a modular structure, so it's flexible and extendable.

MLdonkey runs as a daemon on your computer and is controllable via a web interface or a remote GUI. More information, the full source code and the documentation is available at mldonkey.net. Additional resources and discussion forums are at MLdonkey World (english) and mldonkey.org (german).

The versions on this website are the latest available compilations based on the official core plus the well known customized patches from Spiralvoice. They DO NOT include the GUI for a fast and efficient server setup. Following configuration settings were used:

./configure --enable-pthread --enable-multinet --disable-gui

set OCAMLRUNPARAM="l=256M"

The archives contain the mlnet binary, which by itself will setup it's environment when started for the first time. To use it just copy it in a separate directory under your home (like mldonkey) and start it using 'mlnet &' .

If you are already using a MLdonkey version installed from the ports under FreeBSD and like to upgrade, please rename the downloaded 'mlnet' to 'mlnet-real' and replace the existing file in '/usr/local/bin'. Please keep in mind to start MLdonkey with the existing 'mlnet' script, which will set the environment under FreeBSD.
